Bob Schulz
President and Chief Information Officer

Bob Schulz is President and Chief Information Officer of Kershner Trading Group, LLC.  He has more than 18 years experience in the financial industry and brings a wide range of product and international experience to the group.  

Bob was formerly First Vice President at Instinet in charge of strategic product development for the Hedge Fund, Active Money Manager and Direct Access business segments.  He drove Instinet’s acquisition of Protrader Securities, lead subsequent technology and product integration effort and developed Instinet’s Trading Portal product which was deployed to over 1200 institutional and broker/dealer clients and traded over 80 million shares per day in the US markets.

Prior to Instinet, Bob directed technology initiatives for 13 years at Merrill Lynch in New York and Tokyo as part of the Corporate and Institutional Client group.  At Merrill Lynch, his roles included co-head of Architecture for the Global Institutional business; head of Architecture for the Global Institutional Equities business as well as head of Japan Equity Trading Technology and head of Global Portfolio Trading Technology.

At Merrill Lynch Bob’s leadership delivered a technology “Blueprint” for their global Institutional business covering all markets, products and business functions globally and steering nearly $1 billion in technology spend.

Bob has developed and deployed business solutions for direct-access trading, equities, portfolios, futures, options, convertible bonds, warrants, risk and statistical arbitrage systems on a proprietary and agency basis across multiple continents. His technology leadership experience includes the sell-side, servicing the buy-side and a major market center.

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
