Software Engineer, Back Office - Shanghai

We are looking for a person that is good communicator throughout various departments in an organization. They will need to be very flexible with their workflow and creative problem solvers. We are seeking a person with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and a minimum 4-6 years experience in development.

This role will be responsible for supporting the back office processes for the trading firm, including trading recordkeeping and reporting, both internally to the traders and their support staff, as well as to the markets. The job will include maintenance and enhancement of the current environment and designing future systems in Shanghai. Individuals will need to be strong communicators and detail-oriented to be considered for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Professional software development experience, including:

3 to 5 years of experience developing Windows based client-server software using object oriented techniques
3+ years of web applications development, particularly in C# ASP.NET
3+ years of experience working with an enterprise RDBMS, preferably MS SQL Server 2000/2005 and ADO.NET

Demonstrated experience with data processing technologies
Strong SQL and report generation skills
Experience overseeing a small development projects ensuring tasks are appropriately assigned, development process is being followed and design and coding standards are being met.
Strong problem-solving skills with a specific aptitude for rapidly identifying and resolving issues
Strong analytical skills, with a specific emphasis on data structure and algorithmic modeling, analysis and tuning
Fundamental understanding of software design patterns and effective use of development methodologies
Disciplined approach to software design and ability to communicate design recommendations
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, 2005 or 2008
Experience working with N-tier architectures
Excellent grasp of software engineering principles including development and release lifecycle processes
Disciplined use of a source control system
Strong sense of teamwork with excellent communication and collaboration skills
BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent work experience

Desired Qualifications:

6+ years of software development experience
4+ years of experience in C# and VS.NET
4+ years of web application development in ASP.NET
4+ years of experience working with MS SQL Server, including strong knowledge of stored procedures, DTS packages, job scheduling, and performance tuning; SQL Server 2005 helpful
Experience with trading or financial software, ideally Asian equities or listed derivatives trading. Proprietary or institutional experience is a plus
